Romen's Report.

Romen Dicovski is a mad keen Canberran Freshwater angler who puts in a lot of time on the water in between being teaching golf at the local course. Regular readers will know of Romens exploits: here is his latest report  - Rob.

Hi Rob,

Finally Spring is here properly!

It has been slow going at start of spring.  I did get a couple of 45cm fish a few weeks back when we had three warm days before it turned freezing again- a few hits here in there, but they were not switched on at all.

Hit Googong and had big golden follow lure in the shallows and just nose the lure to boat.  Had a rainbow trout follow my jackall in as well, plus another angler that day had his Hot & Tot smashed on the surface by a big rainbow about 5lbs which jumped out of the drink five times before de-hooking itself.

A few days back landed a thumper golden perch (pictured) at 57cm at Lake Burley Griffin. The warmer weather has not fired them up that much at all yet, maybe a few more days it will.

Have netted a lot of carp in Lake Burley Griffin the last couple days that are spawning like mad, literally hundreds are lining the banks.

Regards,

Romen
