Hi All,
Here is something pretty cool:
On Sunday 23rd August, the newly completed Tallowa Dam fish lift opened as part of a major upgrade and river health project that’s been in the works for a few years now. The $26 million project included construction of the fish passage to allow the up and down stream movement of native fish as well as changes to allow for new environmental flow releases from the dam.
The new mechanical fishway will help ten native fish species, including Bass and the endangered Grayling, to migrate between the lower and upper Shoalhaven River. The dam acted as a barrier to the migration of native fish but the new infrastructure restores full access for fish species to 75 percent of the Shoalhaven River system.
The video clip attached has no audio;, perhaps the Aerosmith song "Love in an Elevator" might be playing in the fish's heads as they migrate up and down the river on their spawning run?
