On a recent trip to Lake Illawarra I went out for blue swimmer crabs with Dave Stephenson from Purely Outboards; the crabs are on fire at the moment and well worth a look into.
Dave and I got talking about how a breakdown can ruin a holiday or even worse cause an accident. It is with this that I remind boaties to make sure their outboard has had its 100 hour service and safety gear etc is up to scratch.
Trailer maintenance is also very important; bearings and brakes etc should be checked at least once a year; especially before a long holiday trip.

There is time before Christmas, which is preferable for those heading away on a road trip, but many outboard mechanics also work over the summer break when people need them.
