Go Fish For Sick Kids

"Go Fish for Sick Kids" is a joint initiative of the FNQ Hospital Foundation, WIN Television, Fishing Australia and the Cairns Professional Game Fishing Association.

A roof top playground for the children that spend time in the Cairn Base Hospital is the ultimate goal of this project.

One of the things you will remember about being a kid is that it is frustrating to be stuck in a room for any amount of time let alone the significant time that seriously ill children have to endure.

These are brave kids and being able to add to their quality of life while undergoing hospital treatment is important. A rooftop playground will help kids be kids and siblings who visit for lengthy periods of time will also gain much from having a nicer place to play.

The campaign has involved a variety of fund raising activities including SMS competitions, a charity fishing tournament and public donations via awareness of this important cause.

Thankfully, the level of support for the campaign has been excellent.
