2010 Episode Five - Tasmania’s Central Highlands Trout

Rob has long been a fan of trout fishing and in this episode, he travels to the picturesque township of Tarraleah in the Central Highlands of Tasmania to renew acquaintances with wild Tasmanian trout. As the former headquarters of the Tassie Hydro Scheme, the township of Tarraleah became derelict when the work on the project was completed. Now revamped as a kind of HQ for fishing in the Central Highlands, Tarraleah provides plenty of accommodation options and unmatched amenities, even offering a private fly-casting lake loaded with Atlantic salmon!

Using Tarraleah as a base, Rob and the team explore the fishing options that grace this beautiful area. Set in some of the most picturesque scenery ever filmed for Fishing Australia, Rob experiences some awesome fly and lure fishing action. And as Rob's Tarraleah Trout trip comes to an end, he ventures into Huon Pine forested hills of the Highlands for a true wilderness trout fishing adventure. Rob and the team seek out "Secret Lake" where he takes to the mirror calm waters in his kayak in search of wild brown trout.
